Healthy + Hydrating Homemade Popsicles

3 Cool Recipes to Hydrate

Whether you’re ending your September summer days working in your backyard or relaxing at the beach, you’ll experience your best times–and your best health–by prioritizing your hydration routine.

Your body relies on water to regulate your body temperature and optimize your vital automatic functions, like breathing and blood pressure. When temperatures rise, your body is faced with an additional task that completely depends on water: staying cool.

When you’re in the heat, working out, or both, your body releases sweat, which is 99% water, through ducts in your skin. Your body cools as sweat evaporates, though it needs lost fluids to be continually replaced in order to keep perspiration, and all your vital bodily functions, optimally performing and to prevent the damaging effects of overheating.

Along with sipping water all throughout the day, you can boost your hydration with a healthy homemade popsicle made from water-based ingredients, like cucumber, watermelon, and water itself! These frozen treats are easy to make and a fun, simple way to hydrate on a warm summer day.
